Add or remove configuration profiles in Apple Configurator on Mac
You can add any configuration profiles that you created using Apple Configurator 2 to a device, whether the device is unsupervised or supervised.
Note: Choose Window > View Activity to follow the progress as Apple Configurator 2 prepares the devices.
Add configuration profiles to an unsupervised device
Profiles that you created or that are sent to you can be added to an unsupervised device.
Complete Setup Assistant and make sure the device is showing the Home screen.
Plug your iOS device into the Mac with Apple Configurator 2 on your Mac installed, using the USB cable that came with the device.
If this is the first time you’ve plugged the device into this Mac, tap Trust in the “Trust this computer” pane on the device.
If the device is locked, unlock it.
Drag and drop a configuration profile on a Blueprint or device, or do one of the following:
Click the Add button in the toolbar, then select Profiles.
Choose Actions > Add > Profiles.
Control-click a Blueprint or device, then select Add > Profiles.
Navigate to where the profiles are located, select the ones you want, then click Add Profiles.
To add the profiles, follow the onscreen instructions on the device.
Add configuration profiles to a supervised device
This task assumes that you have devices that are already supervised. For more information, see the Intro to preparing devices in Apple Configurator on Mac.
Complete Setup Assistant and make sure the device is showing the Home screen.
Connect the device to a USB port on the Mac with Apple Configurator 2 on your Mac installed, then select it in the device browser.
Drag and drop a configuration profile on a Blueprint or device, or do one of the following:
Click the Add button in the toolbar, then select Profiles.
Choose Actions > Add > Profiles.
Control-click a Blueprint or device, then select Add > Profiles.
Navigate to where the profiles are located, select the ones you want, then click Add Profiles.
Because the device is supervised, the profiles are automatically added without user interaction.
Remove configuration profiles
Select the device in the device browser, then choose Actions > Remove > Profiles.
You can also Control-click the device and select Remove > Profiles.
On the device, select the profiles you want to remove, then click Remove Profiles.
Reconfirm that you want to remove the profiles, then click Remove.
