Turn on Content Restrictions on your Android device
If you have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, learn how to use Screen Time to set content restrictions.
If you're using an Android device, follow the steps below.
Open the Apple Music app and tap Settings
In the upper-right corner of the Apple Music app, tap the 3 dots, then tap Settings.
Tap Content Restrictions
In Settings, scroll down to Restrictions, then tap Content Restrictions.
Create a passcode
Enter a four-digit passcode, then enter it again to confirm it. You need to enter this passocde to change your content restrictions.
Make sure that you remember your passcode because there's no way to recover it. If you forget your passcode, you'll have to delete the Apple Music app from your Android device, then reinstall it to change your content restrictions.
Turn on Enable Content Restrictions
Then tap Music or Music Videos to turn off access to explicit content. Tap Movies or TV Shows, then choose which ratings you want to allow. Tap Profiles to turn off access to editing your profile on Apple Music and viewing profiles of other Apple Music users.
Learn more
- After you set up Content Restrictions, you might see explicit music and videos in the Apple Music app, but you won't be able to play that content. Radio will also play clean versions of songs.
- Content Restrictions settings don't sync across devices. You must set up Content Restrictions on every device that you want to limit access to explicit content.
