Enabling captions and subtitles
After you update your iPod nano, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Subtitles & Captioning > Turn on Closed Captioning.
You can select captions and subtitles from the Subtitles menu if they are included in the video you're watching. To see which options are available for your video, click the Subtitles button. When you tap the button, you will see the options for the video:
If captions or subtitles aren't available for the video, you won't see the Subtitles button in the playback controls. You can also check the video's documentation to see if it includes captions or subtitles.
Setting captioning preferences
You can customize the way your iPod displays captions or subtitles to suit your needs. On your iPod nano, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Subtitles & Captioning > Style. You can select one of the predefined styles: Default, Large Text, or Classic. To create your own style, tap Create New Style….
You can change the font, size, and color of the text, along with the color and opacity of the background. You can see a preview of your new style at the top of the window.
When you are happy with each selection, swipe from the left to the right to go back to the list of customization options. When your new style is complete, swipe back to the main style screen to save your changes and set your new style as the default.
