Summarize an audio recording on Mac with Apple Intelligence
You can record audio in Notes—like a class lecture or an important meeting—then use Apple Intelligence* to generate a summary of the transcript, so you can get to the most important information at a glance.
Note: To use Apple Intelligence, you need a Mac with M1 or later and macOS 15.1 or later, with Apple Intelligence turned on. Apple Intelligence is not available in all languages or regions. To check whether Apple Intelligence is available for your device, language, and region, see the Apple Support article How to get Apple Intelligence.

View a summary of an audio recording in Notes
After you record audio in the Notes app, you can see a summary of the recording. If you recorded a phone call on your iPhone, you can also view those summaries in Notes on your Mac.
Go to the Notes app
on your Mac.
Open a note with a recording.
Note: If you recorded a call on your iPhone, the recording appears in the Call Recordings folder.
Click the recording, then click
Summary.
To copy or share the summary, click in the summary dialog, then choose Copy Summary or Share Summary.
Tip: You can also summarize an audio recording in Voice Memos using Writing Tools. Select a recording, click
to view the transcript, then follow the steps to summarize and organize text.
