Input source

Input sources let you type using additional keyboard layouts or input methods. You use input sources to:

  • Enter text in other languages.

  • Enter text in the same language using an alternate layout or method (such as the Dvorak keyboard layout for English or the Handwriting input source for Chinese).

To add input sources and change their settings, choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Keyboard in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.) Go to Text Input on the right, then click Edit.

You can also set an option in Keyboard settings to change input sources by pressing the Fn key or the Globe key key (if available on the keyboard).
