Requirements to use Clean Up in Photos

Learn what you need to use the Clean Up feature in Photos on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

Clean Up is a feature powered by Apple Intelligence in the Photos app that can help remove distracting objects in a photo. You can use Clean Up on your device if it meets the below requirements.

Clean Up requirements for iPhone, iPad, and Mac

• iPhone 16 models, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max; any iPad with A17 Pro or M1 and later; Mac with M1 or later

• iOS 18.1, iPadOS 18.1, or macOS Sequoia 15.1

For European Union residents: Apple Intelligence is available with iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 or later on supported iPhone and iPad models, and with macOS Sequoia 15.1 or later on supported Mac models.

For China residents: Clean Up will not currently work for devices purchased in China mainland. For supported devices purchased outside of China mainland, Clean Up will not currently work if you are in China mainland and if your Apple Account Country/Region is also in China mainland.
