File types that you can use in Shared Albums
iCloud Shared Albums supports a wide range of photo and video file types and formats.
In version 27 or later of iOS, iPadOS, visionOS, and macOS
In version 27 or later of iOS, iPadOS, visionOS, and macOS, all file types and formats that iCloud Photos support can be used in a shared album. Photos and videos in a shared album are stored in iCloud in their original formats at full resolution.
Not all features are available in all countries or regions.
In version 26 or earlier of iOS, iPadOS, visionOS, and macOS
In version 26 or earlier of iOS, iPadOS, visionOS, and macOS, Shared Albums upload a copy of your data to iCloud, but it doesn't count against your iCloud Storage. Downloaded content may not contain the same information as the original.

Supported special formats
Shared Albums also support special formats that you capture with your iPhone, like slo-mo, time-lapse, Live Photos, and Memory videos. When shared, photos are reduced to 2048 pixels on the long edge, except panoramic photos, which can be up to 5400 pixels wide. You can share GIFs that are 100MB or smaller. Shared Albums do not support spatial photo or video.

Videos can be up to fifteen minutes in length and are delivered at up to 720p resolution.
You can't upload HEIF images, HEVC videos, or RAW photos to Shared Albums on your Windows PC. TIFF files aren't supported on iCloud.com. You can't upload RAW photos to Shared Albums on iCloud.com.
