Send and receive money with Apple Cash
Use Apple Cash to send and receive money with people you know.

Send money in the Messages app using Apple Cash
When you send money using Apple Cash, your Apple Cash balance is used to pay by default. If you want to use a debit card instead, you can send money directly from your debit card.
On your iPhone or iPad
Open the Messages app, then start a new conversation or tap an existing one.
Tap the
, tap Apple Cash, then enter the amount you want to send.Tap Send, then tap the
to review or cancel the payment.Double-click the side button to pay.
Confirm your payment with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
If the person you sent money to has not accepted the money yet, you can cancel the payment.
On your Apple Watch
Open the Messages app, then tap an existing conversation.
Tap the
, then tap the .Tap the minus sign or the plus sign to change the amount. You can also use the Digital Crown.
Tap Send, then review or cancel the payment.
Double-click the side button to send your payment.
On your Apple Vision Pro
Open the Messages app, then start a new conversation or tap an existing one.
Tap the
, tap Apple Cash, then enter the amount you want to send.Tap Send, then tap the
to review or cancel the payment.Double-click the top button to pay.
Confirm your payment with Optic ID or your passcode.
Send money using a debit card
For any Apple Cash transaction, you can choose to pay with a debit card. To do this, when you're ready to send your payment:
Tap Send, then tap the
.Tap your Apple Cash card.
Tap the Apple Cash slider to turn it off.
Tap your debit card to select it. Then, if you are using an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, double-click the side button to pay. If you are using an Apple Vision Pro, double-click the top button to pay.
Confirm your payment with Face ID, Touch ID, Optic ID, or your passcode.

Send money using your Apple Cash card and your debit card
If you don't have enough money in your Apple Cash balance to send a payment, you can pay the remainder with your debit card. To do this, when you're ready to send the payment:
Tap Send, then tap the
.You'll see your Apple Cash card and your debit card on the screen with the amounts that will be deducted from each card.
If you are using an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch, double-click the side button to pay using both cards. If you are using an Apple Vision Pro, double-click the top button to pay using both cards.
Confirm your payment with Face ID, Touch ID, Optic ID, or your passcode.
Change your payment method
To change the debit card used to send money, tap the
.Send money in the Wallet app using Apple Cash
On your iPhone, open the Wallet app. Then tap your Apple Cash card.
Tap Send or Request, then select or add the person you want to send money to.
Tap Next, then enter the amount you want to send.
Tap Send, then tap the
to review or cancel the payment.Double-click the side button to pay.
Confirm your payment with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
If the person you sent money to has not accepted the money yet, you can cancel the payment.
Set up a recurring payment in Wallet on iPhone
You can send weekly, biweekly, or monthly Apple Cash payments with Apple Cash.
On your iPhone, open the Wallet app. Then tap your Apple Cash card.
Tap the
, tap Recurring Payments, then tap New Recurring Payment.Add the recipient, then follow the on-screen instructions to choose the dollar amount of each payment, the date you want the payments to start, and how often you'd like them sent. You can also add a memo to identify what the payments are for.
Tap Send, then tap the
to review or cancel the payment.
Double-click the side button to pay.
Confirm your payment with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
Edit, cancel, or pause a recurring payment
On your iPhone, open the Wallet app, tap your Apple Cash card, then tap the
.Tap Recurring Payments, tap the recurring payment, tap cancel or pause, or tap Edit to change any of the payment details.
Send money using Siri
On your iPhone or Apple Watch, say "Hey Siri," then say something like, "Send 25 dollars to Jane using Apple Cash." Then tap Send.
Automatically or manually accept payments
The first time that you use Apple Cash, you have 7 days to accept the money that you've been sent. After you accept the terms and conditions, payments are automatically accepted and added to your Apple Cash card. You might be asked to verify your identity.
When someone sends you money, it's securely received and kept in Apple Cash. You can use the money right away2 to send to someone, spend with Apple Pay, or transfer the money to your bank account or eligible debit card.
On your iPhone
Open the Wallet app, then tap your Apple Cash card.
Tap the
, then tap Card Details.Tap Automatically Accept Payments or Manually Accept Payments.
If you choose Manually Accept Payments, you'll see Accept in the message when someone sends you money. You have 7 days to accept the money.
To reject a payment, open the Wallet app on your iPhone, tap your Apple Cash card, and find the payment under Latest Transactions. Tap the payment, tap the payment again, then tap Reject Payment.
When you change the method of how you accept payments, it updates on all your devices.
On your iPad
Open the Settings app.
Scroll down, tap Wallet & Apple Pay, then tap your Apple Cash card.
Tap Automatically Accept Payments or Manually Accept Payments.
On your Apple Watch
Open the Apple Watch app on your iPhone.
Scroll down and tap Wallet & Apple Pay, then tap your Apple Cash card.
Tap Automatically Accept Payments or Manually Accept Payments.
On your Apple Vision Pro
Open the Settings app.
Scroll down, tap Wallet & Apple Pay, then tap your Apple Cash card.
Tap Automatically Accept Payments or Manually Accept Payments.
Send a request for payment in Messages
When you send someone a payment request using Apple Cash, they can confirm or change the amount that they want to send.
On your iPhone or iPad
Open a conversation in the Messages app or start a new conversation.
Tap the
, tap Apple Cash, enter the amount, then tap Request.Tap the
to request the payment.
On your Apple Watch
Open the Messages app and choose a conversation.
Tap the App Store button, then tap the Apple Cash button.
Enter an amount, then swipe left on the Send button to show the Request button.
Tap Request.
On your Apple Vision Pro
Open a conversation in the Messages app or start a new conversation.
Tap the
, tap Apple Cash, enter the amount, then tap Request.Tap the
to request the payment.
Respond to a request for payment on iPhone or iPad
Open the request in the Messages app, then tap Pay on the message.
Review the amount to send. Tap the Send button to continue. Or you can change the amount, and then tap Send.
Double-click the side button to pay.
Confirm your payment with Face ID, Touch ID, or your passcode.
To decline a request for money, you can ignore the message.
Respond to a request for money on Apple Watch
Open the request in the Messages app, then tap Pay on the message.
Review the amount to send. Tap Send to continue.
You can use the Digital Crown if you want to change the amount. Then, tap Send.
Double-click the side button to confirm and send your payment.
Respond to a request for payment on Apple Vision Pro
Open the request in the Messages app, then tap Pay on the message.
Review the amount to send. Tap the Send button to continue. Or you can change the amount, and then tap Send.
Double-click the top button to pay.
Confirm your payment with Optic ID or your passcode.
To decline a request for money, you can ignore the message.
Cancel or dispute a payment
Open the Messages app, then open the conversation and tap the payment.
Your Apple Cash card will open in the Wallet app. Under Latest Transactions, tap the payment, then tap it again.
Tap Cancel Payment.
If you don't see Cancel Payment, the person has already accepted the payment. Try asking the recipient to send the money back to you instead.
Depending on your bank or card issuer, it might take 1-5 business days for the money to be refunded.
Apple Cash person-to-person payments are like any other private transaction between two people, so only send and receive money with people you know. If you have questions or concerns about a transaction, please contact us.
What you need
You and the person that you're sending money to or receiving the money from must:1
Have a compatible device with the latest iOS, iPadOS, watchOS, or VisionOS.
Use two-factor authentication with your Apple ID and sign in to iCloud and iMessage with the same Apple ID on any device that you want to use to send or receive money.
Make sure that there's enough money on your Apple Cash card or that you have an eligible debit card in Wallet if you're sending money to someone.

Only available in the U.S. on eligible devices. To send and receive money with an Apple Cash account, you must be 18 and a U.S. resident. If you’re under 18, your family organizer can set up Apple Cash for you as part of their Apple Cash Family account, but you may not be able to access features that require a supported payment card. Security checks may require more time to make funds available. Apple Cash Family accounts can send up to $2000 per transaction and receive up to $2000 within a seven-day period. To access and use all Apple Cash features, you must have an eligible device with Wallet that supports and has the latest version of iOS.
