Apple Configurator 1.7.1 is a recommended update for all Apple Configurator users. The Apple Configurator 1.7.1 update is available from the Updates pane of the Mac App Store. Apple Configurator 1.7.1 requires OS X Yosemite and iTunes 12 or later.
What's new in Configurator 1.7.1
Fixes an issue for users in some countries and regions which could incorrectly indicate that an iTunes update is required when installing apps, even when the latest version of iTunes is already installed. If you continue to receive the ‘iTunes update is required’ message after updating to Apple Configurator 1.7.1, restart your Mac.
Apple Configurator replaces iPhone Configuration Utility. With the the release of iOS 8, iPhone Configuration Utility is no longer supported or available for download.
To create or install an iOS configuration profile, use Apple Configurator or a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution such as Profile Manager (included with OS X Server).
The ability to view the iOS console log (previously available in iPhone Configuration Utility) is a feature of the Xcode development tool and third-party applications.
