Find the 'i' icon to set up your Apple Watch

When you set up your Apple Watch, you might be asked to tap the "i" icon. Learn what it means and how to find it. 

How to find the "i" icon

To find the "i" icon , go to the lower-right corner of an unpaired Apple Watch. To see the name of your watch and pair manually, tap the "i" icon.

If you can't find the "i" icon

If you still see the time, lock screen, or apps on your Apple Watch, your watch might still be paired with an iPhone. Before you can pair again, you need to erase or unpair your watch. You can unpair from either your iPhone or Apple Watch. 

Unpair from iPhone

  1. Open the Apple Watch app, tap the My Watch tab, then tap your watch at the top of the screen.
  2. Tap the "i" icon  next to the watch that you want to unpair, then tap Unpair Apple Watch.
  3. Tap again to confirm, then wait for your watch to unpair.

After your Apple Watch completely unpairs, you can pair again

Unpair from Apple Watch

  1. Open the Settings app, then tap General > Reset.
  2. Tap Erase All Content and Settings, then tap again to confirm.
  3. Wait for your watch to unpair.
