You don't always need a Support PIN (personal identification number). But if Apple Support needs to verify your identity, we might ask you to generate one.
Sign in to get your Support PIN
Sign in to your Apple ID account page.
Enter the verification code that is sent to your trusted device.* In the bottom-left of the screen, click Support PIN. Then click Generate PIN from the pop-up window.
If you see the button on the screen where you can enter a verification code, you might be able to generate a Support PIN without entering a verification code.
Your PIN is generated instantly and appears in a pop-up window that also notes when the PIN expires.
When you're prompted, give the four-digit PIN to the Apple Support Advisor you're working with.
You can use the PIN you generate only one time.
*Depending on how you created your Apple ID, you might be able to generate a Support PIN without entering a verification code.
If you're asked to answer your security questions
You don't need to answer your security questions to get a PIN. Just click Get Support PIN.
