Find out about your repair options
When you need to repair your iPad, you can choose between several options. For most customers, visiting a professional repair provider with certified technicians who use genuine Apple parts is the safest and most reliable way to get a repair. These providers include Apple and Apple Authorised Service Providers. Independent Repair Providers also have access to genuine Apple parts.* Repairs performed by untrained individuals using non-genuine parts may affect the safety of the device or functionality of the display. Apple displays are designed to fit precisely within the device. Also, repairs that don't replace screws or cowlings correctly may leave behind loose parts that could damage the battery, cause overheating or result in injury.
Depending on your location, you can get your iPad display replaced – in or out of warranty – by visiting an Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider, or by sending your iPad to an Apple Repair Centre. Genuine Apple parts are also available for out-of-warranty repairs from Independent Repair Providers.
Get started with a display service
The iPad display is engineered together with iPadOS software for optimal performance and quality. A non-genuine display may cause compatibility or performance issues. For example, an issue may arise after an iPadOS software update that contains display updates.
If a service provider uses non-genuine display parts, the following may also occur:
Multi-Touch issues:
Multi-Touch may not respond on parts of the screen
Multi-Touch performance may degrade, such as missed screen touches or touches not registering in the right location
Accidental edge or palm touches may be registered
Apple Pencil performance and accuracy may degrade
Display brightness and colour issues:
True Tone display may not function correctly
Ambient light sensor functionality may be lost or degraded, causing the screen to dim or brighten incorrectly
Display colour calibration may be incorrect, causing, for example, the display to appear too yellow or blue
Display may not be uniformly bright
Maximum brightness may be lower
Battery may drain unintentionally
