What EyeSight shows on Apple Vision Pro

The display on the front of Apple Vision Pro reveals your eyes to others, lets people know when you’re capturing a photo or video, shows system alerts and more.

After you’ve captured your Persona (beta) and put on Apple Vision Pro, EyeSight will show a personalised representation of your own eyes, only when others are around you. If you haven’t set up Persona, EyeSight will show a general impression of your eyes without personalised details.

EyeSight keeps you connected and lets others know you can see them

EyeSight keeps you connected with those around you by letting you make eye contact while you’re using an app in your space or when you’re partially immersed in an Environment. When your eyes are present on EyeSight, others know you can see them.

EyeSight also uses animations and colours to let people around you know when you’re engaged in different experiences in your Apple Vision Pro and may not be able to see them. With EyeSight, those near you can tell when you’re not viewing any content, when you’re using an app and when you’re fully immersed.

Here’s what the different EyeSight states communicate to people around you.

EyeSight lets others know when you’re using Apple Vision Pro cameras

When you take a spatial photo or spatial video with Apple Vision Pro, capture your view or share your view with others, EyeSight lets people around you know that you’re using the camera.

EyeSight shows a single burst of light like a camera flash when you take a spatial photo or capture a still image of your view. When you take a spatial video, record your view or share your view, the light on EyeSight pulses.

If you want to delete your personalised EyeSight

  1. Go to Settings > Awareness & Safety.

  2. Tap Delete Personalised EyeSight, then tap Delete to confirm.

After you’ve deleted your personalised EyeSight, people around you will still see an impression of your eyes without personalised details.

Deleting your personalised EyeSight doesn’t affect your Persona. But if you delete your personalised EyeSight and want to use it again later, you’ll need to recapture your Persona.
