If Maps isn’t working on your Apple device
Can’t find your location on Maps? Are you seeing the wrong results in Maps on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch or Mac? Find out what to do.

If you need to correct information or add your business to Maps
If you’re a business owner and want to add your business or correct the information about one of your locations in Maps, sign in to Apple Business Connect. With Apple Business Connect, you can upload high-resolution photos, showcase items or offers, and take other actions to elevate your brand. The business details you update in Apple Business Connect will appear in several places, including Maps, Siri, Safari, Calendar and more.
To correct or update business information, you can claim your business if it already appears in Maps:
In Maps, search for a business. If needed, tap the correct business or location.
Scroll down to the bottom and tap Claim This Place.
Follow the onscreen instructions to sign in to Apple Business Connect.
If you can’t find your current location on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
Turn on Location Services and Location Access for Maps. In the Settings app, tap Privacy & Security, then tap Location Services. Location Services is turned on and Maps is set to While Using the App or Widgets.
Set the date, time and time zone correctly on your device. In the Settings app, tap General, then tap Date & Time. If possible, turn on Set Automatically.
Turn on mobile data or Wi-Fi so you have an active connection. In the Settings app, tap Wi-Fi or Mobile Data, then select a network or mobile plan.
Location Services uses GPS, Bluetooth, crowd-sourced Wi-Fi hotspots and phone masts to determine your location. If you still can’t find your current location in Maps, close the Maps app and reopen it. You can also try to restart your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

Edit or refine your home address in Maps on your iPhone or iPad
In the Maps app, scroll to Places.
Tap and hold the icon for the location you want to change.
Tap Edit Details.
Tap Refine Location on the Map and move the icon as needed.
Tap Done.
In iOS 18 and later, you can set a home or work address in Maps that is different from the home or work address on your Contact Card.
If you can’t find your current location on your Mac
From the Apple menu , choose System Settings.
Click Privacy & Security on the left and then click Location Services on the right.
Make sure Location Services and Maps are both turned on.
Close the settings window.
Make sure your Mac is connected to the Internet.

If you want your map to face north
While you are exploring a map
In Maps, either tap the blue direction arrow or use two fingers to rotate the map to reveal the compass.
Tap the compass until your map orientation is set to north. The compass will display “N” or disappear to indicate your map now faces north.
While you are planning a route
In Maps, tap Go to plan your route.
Tap the blue direction arrow.
While you are navigating
In Maps, tap Go to start your route.
Tap the overview button.
Report an issue or add a missing place in Maps on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch
In the Maps app, scroll down to the bottom of the screen.
Tap Report an Issue. From this screen, you can report a street, place or route issue, or report an incident or missing place.
After you’ve chosen an issue, follow the onscreen instructions.
You can also edit your favourite places and update your home or work address.
Report an issue or add a missing place in Maps on your Mac
From the menu bar in Maps, choose Maps > Report an Issue.
Choose an issue. From this screen, you can add a place to Maps or report a street or place issue.
Follow the onscreen instructions.
You can also edit your home or work address.
To report an issue or a missing place, you must have a Mac computer with Apple silicon, the Apple T2 Security Chip or a Touch Bar.
If you’re having trouble with spoken directions on your iOS or iPadOS device
In the Settings app, tap Apps.
Tap Maps.
Tap Spoken Directions.
Select your options, such as volume level or whether to pause podcasts for directions or whether to hear directions through your vehicle’s radio.
After you’ve started directions in Maps in iOS 26, you can tap the volume button to quickly change spoken directions options such as volume or when you receive spoken directions.
Turn Spoken Directions on or off by tapping the audio button on the map after you’ve started turn-by-turn navigation. See which countries or regions support turn-by-turn navigation.
