Publish your book with Pages
Create an EPUB file of your book in Pages on Mac, iPhone, iPad or online at iCloud.com, then upload it to the publishing portal on Apple Books for Authors on your Mac or iPad.
Prepare your book for publishing
Here are some things you should do before you start the process of publishing your book:
To make sure your book formats correctly when published, use paragraph styles in your Pages document.
Get your cover image ready* or plan to use the first page as the cover. If you're planning to publish with Pages on an iPad, save the image in iCloud Drive.
If your book contains HEVC videos, convert the videos before you publish.
If your book contains 3D objects, replace the objects with image files or remove the objects. If you leave 3D objects in a document, Pages will convert them to image files when you export the document to EPUB.
Review the items in the list on the Submit Your Book web page.
Make sure the size of the Pages file is 2 GB or smaller and the cover image is 20 MB or smaller.
* You can use PDF, EPS, JPG, PSD, PNG, TIFF or GIF files for cover images, and they must be at least 1,400 pixels on their shortest side.
Create an EPUB file of your book
You can create an EPUB file suitable for publishing on Mac, iPhone or iPad.

Online at iCloud.com, click the More button, then choose Publish to Apple Books.
Enter a title for the book and the author’s name.
Choose your cover options.
Choose the type of layout you want for your EPUB:
Choose Reflowable if you want your content to accommodate different devices and orientations. Text size scales and content repaginates depending on the device, its settings and its orientation. Reflowable is best for documents that are mostly text.
Choose Fixed layout if you want the layout of each page in your document to stay the same, regardless of the device or orientation. In a fixed layout EPUB, readers can zoom in and out, but text and content positions are fixed and don’t reflow. Fixed layout is best for image-heavy or multi-column documents.
Export your document as an EPUB file:
On iPhone or iPad, tap Export, choose an option, choose Save to Files, then choose a location on your device or in iCloud Drive. If you’re using an iPhone, save to iCloud Drive (you can access the publishing portal on iPad or Mac only).
