Mac mini (2023 with M2) Antenna Plate
Before You Begin
Remove the following part before you begin:
Tools
Adjustable torque driver (10-34 Ncm)
Antenna tool
ESD-safe tweezers
Nylon probe (black stick)
Torx T6 70 mm bit
Torx T6 screwdriver
Removal
Use the 10-34 Ncm adjustable torque driver and Torx T6 70 mm bit to remove the six T6 screws (923-07582) (1, 2, 3) (923-07583) (4, 5, 6) in the order shown.
Insert the black stick into one of the ventilation holes and slightly move the antenna plate off to the side (1).
Caution
Don’t remove the antenna plate from the housing yet. The antenna plate is attached to the logic board by the antenna coaxial cable and T6 screw (2).
Ensure that you don’t scratch the housing as you move the antenna plate.
Rotate the computer 180 degrees to access the antenna coaxial cable and T6 screw. The front of the housing should be facing you.
Use the T6 screwdriver to remove the T6 screw (923-03034) from the antenna coaxial cable grounding strap.
Note: The T6 screw has a captive washer that stays attached to the screw.
Use the antenna tool to lift the end of the antenna coaxial cable off the connector.
Remove the antenna plate from the housing.
Reassembly
Rest the antenna plate on the housing as shown. Align the screw hole on the antenna coaxial cable grounding strap with the screw hole on the logic board.
Use the T6 screwdriver to partially reinstall the T6 screw (923-03034) into the antenna coaxial cable grounding strap.
Use the blunt end of the antenna tool to press the end of the antenna coaxial cable to the connector.
Use the T6 screwdriver to fully reinstall the T6 screw into the antenna coaxial cable grounding strap.
Rotate the computer so the input/output (I/O) wall is facing you. Align the screw holes on the antenna plate with the screw holes on the housing.
Insert the Torx T6 70 mm bit into the 10-34 Ncm adjustable torque driver. Set the torque value to 29.5 Ncm.
Use the adjustable torque driver and Torx T6 70 mm bit to reinstall the six T6 screws (923-07582) (1, 2, 3) (923-07583) (4, 5, 6) in the order shown.
