How to send your Mac to Apple for a service
After you’ve contacted Apple for a service, you’ll receive a kit that contains everything you need to return your product to Apple.
Before you send your Mac for a service
If your Mac won’t turn on or respond, finish as many steps as possible:
Erase your Mac
Turn off any third-party security software.
Pack your Mac
The kit that you received from Apple has everything you need to pack up your Mac – including the box to send it and the return postage label. To pack your Mac, follow the steps printed inside the lid of the box.
Don’t include anything else in the box – such as a power adapter, power cable, SD card(s), keyboard protector, bottom cover, display cover or any other accessories. If you do, they won’t be returned to you.
