To share videos made with Apple video apps on iPhone, iPad, or Mac to social platforms like YouTube, Facebook, and Vimeo, export the video using the Social Platforms setting in the app, then upload the video using the social platform's website or app.
Share to social platforms from Clips
If the video that you want to share isn't open, tap the
in the upper-left corner, then choose a project.Tap the
.To change the project aspect ratio, orientation, and other advanced options, tap Options, make your selections, make sure Video is selected, then tap Done to apply the new settings.
Tap Save Video to save the final video in the photo library on your iPhone or iPad. If you are using iCloud Photos, you can also access the video from your other Apple devices.
Open the app for the social platform on your device, sign in to your account, then upload your video.

Use the steps below to share videos that you’ve made with iMovie on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac to social platforms.
Share video from iMovie on your iPhone or iPad
In the Projects browser in iMovie, tap the project you want share, then tap the
, then tap Save or Share video.To change the resolution and turn HDR on or off for the exported video, tap Options, make your selections, then tap Done to apply the new settings.
Tap Save Video to save the final video in the photo library on your iPhone or iPad. If you are using iCloud Photos, you can also access the video from your other Apple devices.
Open the social platform app on your device, sign in to your account, then upload your video.
Share video from iMovie on your Mac
With your project open in iMovie, click the
.Click Social Platforms.
Edit the title and description of your video, and add tags.
Click the Resolution pop-up menu and choose a size for your video.
Choose a location to save the video file, then click Save.
With Safari or another web browser, sign in to the social platform, then upload the video file.
Share to social platforms from Final Cut Pro on Mac
Select your project in the Final Cut Pro browser, click the Social Platforms.

Click Info to change the name of the clip, the description, and more.
Click Settings to choose resolution, compression, and caption settings.
Click Next, choose a location to save the video file, then click Save.
With Safari or another web browser, sign in to the social platform, then upload the video file.
Share to social platforms from Final Cut Pro for iPad
For an SDR Final Cut Pro for iPad project or any project you want to upload to video-sharing sites, choose the Social Platforms option from the Presets pop-up menu when sharing. The Social Platforms option exports your video using the H.264 codec, for smaller file sizes and compatibility with the widest range of devices.
For an HDR project that you want to upload to a social platform, choose the Default option from the Presets pop-up menu.

Share to social platforms from Compressor
In Compressor, click Add File in the batch area, select the source file you want to share, then click Add.
In the settings window that opens, select the Social Platforms disclosure triangle, choose a resolution for the file, choose a location where you want to save the transcoded file, then click OK.
If the source file is already in the batch area, you can drag a Social Platforms resolution setting from the Presets pane onto the source file in the batch area.
Click Start Batch.
With Safari or another web browser, sign in to the social platform, then upload the video file.
Share to social platforms from Motion
With your project open In Motion, click the
, then choose Export Movie, Export Selection to Movie, or Export Audio.In the Export window, click Info to change the name of the file, the description, and more.
Click Settings, click the Format pop-up menu, then choose Social Platforms. You can also select the desired resolution, color space, color channels, and more for the exported file.
Click Render to set render quality, or to include motion blur, frame blending, lighting, shadows, and more.
Click Next, choose a location to save the file, then click Save.
With Safari or another web browser, sign in to the social platform, then upload the video file.
