Mac Pro (2023) status indicator light behaviour
Find out more about the different status indicator light patterns that you may see on your Mac Pro.
Turned off
When a Mac Pro is turned off, the status indicator light is not illuminated.
Turned on or in sleep mode
When Mac Pro is on or sleeping, the status indicator light is solid white and remains on until the computer turns off.
Housing unlocked or top cover removed while computer is turned on
If the computer is on and you unlock the housing on tower enclosure models, or open the top cover or access door on rack enclosure models, the status indicator light flashes amber steadily until the housing is locked or the top cover or access door is reinstalled.
Firmware recovery mode
If Mac Pro is in firmware recovery mode, the status indicator light displays an amber pattern of three rapid flashes, three longer flashes, then three rapid flashes. You may need to revive the firmware on your Mac Pro. If you revive the firmware, the status indicator light is solid white once the revive begins. If you still need help, contact an Apple Authorised Service Provider.
Locate the status indicator lights
Mac Pro (2023) and Mac Pro (Rack, 2023) have a status indicator light next to the power button and on the back near the power port.
