Accept pre-installed Pro Apps on your new Mac

Find out what to do if you can’t update or find pre-installed Pro Apps such as Final Cut Pro for Mac or Logic Pro for Mac.

If you can’t update your pre-installed Pro Apps

If the apps are installed on your Mac but you can’t update them, here’s what to do:

  1. On your Mac, open the App Store app.

  2. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar. If you don't see your name, click the sign-in buttonNo alt supplied for Image, then sign in with your Apple ID.

  3. If you have any unaccepted apps, a list of the ones you can accept and an Accept button will be displayed in the App Store. Click Accept. You may be asked to sign in again with your Apple ID.

  4. After you've accepted the apps, click Updates to check for any app updates.

If you've accepted the apps and you're still seeing an error when you update, update the software on your Mac.

If you can’t find your pre-installed Pro Apps

If you bought your Mac with pre-installed Pro Apps and you can’t find the apps, download them:

  1. On your Mac, open the App Store app.

  2. Click your name at the bottom of the sidebar. If you don't see your name, click the the sign-in buttonNo alt supplied for Image, then sign in with your Apple ID. You should see a message that you have a certain number of apps to adopt.

  3. Click Accept. You may be asked to sign in again with your Apple ID.

  4. Click the download buttonNo alt supplied for Image next to the apps that you want to install.
