What you need
A subscription to Apple Music
An iPhone or iPad updated to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS, Android device with the latest version of the Apple Music app or a device that can access music.apple.com
Your username and password for the other music service
Transfer music and playlists from other music services to Apple Music
You can start your transfer in the Apple Music app on your iPhone, iPad, Android device or on the web. You can transfer your songs, albums and playlists from other music services to Apple Music, but what you can transfer varies and is determined by the service. You can still access all of your saved content in the other service. Transferring music to Apple Music is provided by a third party.
Transfer to Apple Music on your iPhone, iPad or Android
Go to Music Settings:
On an iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Apps > Music.
On an Android device, open the Apple Music app, tap
, then tap Settings.
Tap Transfer Music from Other Music Services.
Choose from the list of supported music services. Then sign in to the music service.
Choose what you want to transfer.
Tap Add to Library.
Wait for Apple Music to find matches for your music in the Apple Music catalogue. After this process has been completed, you’ll see one of the following messages:
Transfer Complete: Apple Music found matches for the music in the Apple Music catalogue and added the music to your library.
Some Music Needs Review: Apple Music didn’t find an exact match but found similar alternative versions for the music. Tap Review Now, choose an alternative version, then tap Save to add the music to your library.
Transfer to Apple Music on the web
On your web browser, go to music.apple.com.
Click Sign In and sign in with the Apple Account you use for Apple Music.
Click your photo or monogram in the top right-hand corner, then select Transfer Music.
Choose what you want to transfer.
Tap Add to Library.
Wait for Apple Music to find matches for your music in the Apple Music catalogue. After this process has been completed, you’ll see one of the following messages in the bottom of the sidebar:
Transfer Complete: Apple Music found matches for the music in the Apple Music catalogue and added the music to your library.
Some Music Needs Review: Apple Music didn’t find an exact match but found similar alternative versions for the music. Tap Review Now, choose an alternative version, then tap Save to add the music to your library.
If some of your music wasn’t transferred to Apple Music
Some content may not be available or have an exact match in the Apple Music catalogue.
If you see Some Music Needs Review or Review Alternatives
You have 30 days from the initial transfer to review unmatched music and choose from alternative versions to add to your music library. You can’t start a new transfer on that device if you have music that needs reviewing.
To review alternative versions, make sure you’re on the device that initiated the transfer:
On an iPhone or iPad, go to Settings > Apps > Music, then tap Review Current Transfer.
On an Android device, open the Apple Music app, tap
, tap Settings, then tap Review Current Transfer.On the web, click your photo or monogram in the top right-hand corner, then select Review.
If you can’t see some of your playlists
You can only transfer playlists you’ve created. Playlists created by the music service won’t be transferred.
If you see Something Went Wrong
Make sure your device is connected to the internet, then tap Try Again.
Transferring your library and playlists to Apple Music is not available in China, Myanmar and Russia. Apple Music availability may vary by country or region. Find out what’s available in your country or region.
