Check the System Status

Check the System Status page to see if there are any known issues affecting iCloud Bookmarks & Tabs. Then check your device settings, your browser and your internet connection. Or restart your device to see if your bookmarks sync.

If you have a folder with more than 500 bookmarks, the order of your bookmarks may not be the same on all of your devices.

Check or reset your device settings

  1. Make sure you’re signed in to iCloud with the same Apple Account on each of your devices, and that your devices meet the iCloud system requirements for Bookmarks.

  2. If you’re on a PC, make sure you’ve set up iCloud Bookmarks.

  3. Go to your iCloud settings on your device. Then:

    • On your iPhone, iPad or Mac, check that Safari has been turned on. If Safari has already been turned on for the device that’s missing bookmarks, turn it off, wait a few minutes and then turn it back on again.

    • On your PC, check that Bookmarks has been turned on in iCloud for Windows. If Bookmarks has already been turned on, deselect the Bookmarks tickbox and click Apply. Wait a few seconds, then select Bookmarks and click Apply.

  4. Make sure the date and time settings on your iPhone or iPad or Mac are correct.

  5. If you’re on a PC, restart iCloud for Windows.

Check your browser and internet connection

  1. Check your internet connection and make sure you can open a secure website: Open Safari and go to www.apple.com.

  2. Restart your browser.

  3. If you’re on a PC, try using iCloud Bookmarks in another browser.

Restart your device

Restart your iPhone, iPad, Mac or PC.

Recover recently deleted bookmarks

  1. If you need to access a bookmark that you’ve deleted within the last 30 days, go to iCloud.com.

  2. At the bottom of the screen, click Data Recovery.

  3. Click Restore Bookmarks.
