Use Centre Stage on your iPad or Studio Display

Centre Stage uses machine learning to adjust the front-facing Ultra Wide camera when you use video apps such as FaceTime on your compatible iPad model or Mac connected to Studio Display. As you move around, Centre Stage helps keep you and anyone else who is with you in the frame.

You can use Centre Stage during a FaceTime call and when you're using other compatible video apps.

How to turn Centre Stage on or off

  1. During a video call in FaceTime, or when using video in a compatible app, open Control Centre by swiping down from the top right-hand edge of your screen on iPad, or click the Control Centre iconNo alt supplied for Image in the menu bar on Mac.

  2. Tap or click the Video Effects buttonNo alt supplied for Image.

  3. Tap or click the Centre Stage buttonNo alt supplied for Image to turn it on or off.

On iPad, you can also control Centre Stage during a FaceTime call by tapping the video thumbnail of yourself, then tapping the Centre Stage buttonNo alt supplied for Image.
