Send a Keynote presentation on Mac
You can send a copy of a Keynote presentation using AirDrop, Mail, Messages or another service. You can send the copy as a Keynote presentation or in another format, such as PDF, Microsoft PowerPoint, Movie and more.
Tip: Before you send a copy of your presentation to a recipient, you can lock it to prevent anyone from modifying the copy, or password-protect it to restrict access to the presentation and provide extra security.
Send a copy of a presentation in Keynote or another format
With the presentation open, do one of the following:
macOS Ventura 13 or later: Click Share in the toolbar, then choose Send Copy.
macOS 12 or earlier: Choose File > Send a Copy (from the File menu at the top of your screen).
Choose a sending option.
AirDrop: Your recipient must accept the file to receive it.
Mail and Messages: : A copy of the file is sent to your recipient directly.
Notes: A copy of the file is saved in your own Notes files.
If there’s a “Require password to open” tickbox, you can select it to limit access to the presentation.
If you’ve already password-protected the presentation: The copy you send uses the current password. To use a different password just for this copy, click Change Password. (The password for your presentation won’t change.)
If you haven’t password-protected the presentation: Enter and verify the password you want to use to protect this copy. The password applies only to the copy.
Click Next, then provide the requested information (an email address if you’re sending an email, for example).
If you aren’t signed in to your account for the sending option you chose, sign in before continuing.
You can also export a presentation in a different format before sending. See Export to PowerPoint or another file format in Keynote on Mac
To make your presentation easier to send, post or share, you can reduce its file size.
