Use a link to invite people to a FaceTime call on Mac
With macOS 12 or later, you can create a link for a FaceTime call, then share the link with anyone. People join the call in the FaceTime app if they’re using an Apple device with macOS 12, iOS 15, iPadOS 15 or later. Other people join the call on the web, including those using an Android or Windows device that meets these requirements. As the link originator, you need to start the call, then allow each person to join.
Note: You need a Mac, iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to make a FaceTime call or create a link to one.
Create a FaceTime link
In the FaceTime app on your Mac, sign in.
Click Create Link.
Tip: You can also create a link to a FaceTime call in the Calendar app when you add a FaceTime video call to a calendar event.
After you create a link to a FaceTime call, you can share it to invite others.
Start a call from a FaceTime link
If you created a link for a FaceTime call, you can start the call either from an app (for example, in a Messages conversation, click Join) or from FaceTime. If you created the link in the last day or so, you see it in the list of recent calls in the Upcoming section; otherwise, you see it in the date-based section — for example, below Last Week.
In the FaceTime app on your Mac, double-click a FaceTime call link (indicated by a link icon ).
Click the Video button , then click Join.
Let a caller join the FaceTime call
As the originator of the FaceTime link, you can let others in to the call immediately. After a participant with an Apple device has joined the call for 30 seconds, they can also let new callers in.
You know that a new caller is waiting when a badge appears on the Sidebar button .
While on a call in the FaceTime app on your Mac, click the Sidebar button when the badge appears.
Do one of the following:
Allow the caller to join the call: Click the Approve Join Request button .
Don’t allow the caller to join the call: Click the Decline Join Request button .
To turn off the audio alert when a new person joins the call, click the Sidebar button , then select Silence Join Requests.
Delete a FaceTime link
When you no longer need a FaceTime link that you created, you can delete it.
In the FaceTime app on your Mac, check the list of callers for the call made with a FaceTime link.
Click the Info button , then click Delete Link.
