Connect to Wi-Fi on your iPhone or iPad

Connect your device to available Wi-Fi networks, including public, secure, and previously used networks.

Connect to a Wi-Fi network

  1. In Settings, tap Wi-Fi, then turn on Wi-Fi. Your device automatically searches for available Wi-Fi networks.

  2. Tap the name of the Wi-Fi network that you want to join. You might be asked to enter the network's password first, or agree to terms and conditions. If you don't know the password to the Wi-Fi network, contact your network administrator.

  3. Look for the blue checkmark next to the network name, and the Wi-Fi icon in the upper corner of your screen. This means you're successfully connected.

  4. If you want to use cellular data in addition to Wi-Fi for a more reliable internet connection, scroll down and also turn on Connectivity Assist.
