Before You Begin

Removal

Note: The following steps describe how to remove both USB-C boards. However, you can remove one USB-C board at a time.

1. Peel off the polyester film tape from the USB-C boards. Save it for reassembly.

   

2. Use the T3 screwdriver to remove the two T3 screws (923-05555) from each USB-C board.

   

3. Flip up the USB-C boards to access the USB-C board cowlings.

   • Caution: Ensure that the USB-C boards don’t touch the adapter board.

   

4. Use the T3 screwdriver to remove the two T3 screws (923-05562) from each cowling.

   

5. Remove the right cowling and save it for reassembly.

   

6. Gently move the left cowling and speaker cable out of the way to access the left USB-C board connector.

   • Note: The speaker cable is routed through the left USB-C board cowling and is secured with tape.

   • Caution: Ensure that the USB-C boards don’t touch the adapter board.

   

7. Use the flat end of the black stick to lift the ends of the USB-C board flex cables off the connectors on the adapter board.

   

8. Remove the USB-C boards from the housing.

Reassembly

1. Position the USB-C boards over the connectors. Then press the ends of the USB-C board flex cables to the connectors on the adapter board.

   • Caution: Ensure that the USB-C boards don’t touch the adapter board.

   

2. Position the USB-C board cowlings over the connectors.

3. Use the T3 screwdriver to reinstall the two T3 screws (923-05562) into each cowling.

   

4. Flip down the USB-C boards. Ensure that they are aligned with the screw holes.

5. Use the T3 screwdriver to reinstall the two T3 screws (923-05555) into each USB-C board as shown.

   

6. Reinstall the polyester film tape over the USB-C boards.

   • Note: If you’re installing a replacement USB-C board, use the included replacement polyester film tape instead of the existing polyester film tape.

   

Reinstall the following part to complete reassembly:

• Display
