About total possible points
The first time you do one of the following in an assessment, Schoolwork sets the total possible points for the assessment:
Tap Mark as Done in a review card
Manually enter a total in a review card
A manually entered total overrides any previous total points. For example, if you tap Mark as Done and set the total possible points to 10, then manually enter a total of 15 in the review card, Schoolwork overwrites the previous total and uses 15 as the new total possible points.
If you change default mark values for an assessment:
After setting total possible points: Schoolwork updates student scores but not the total possible points.
Before setting total possible points: Schoolwork updates student scores as well as their individual totals.
Note: If you score student work in an assessment, but don’t tap Mark as Done, each student’s review card will display their individual score out of their individual total. For example, one student might receive a 10/10 and another student might receive a 15/20.
