Use Apple Pencil with your iPad
Whether you want to create a quick sketch, mark up a webpage or photo, or add your signature to a PDF, it’s easy to do with Apple Pencil.
Create a note, instantly
To quickly create a note, wake your iPad, then tap the Lock screen with Apple Pencil. Tap a tool and start writing or sketching. As you work, you can reposition the toolbar by dragging it to any edge.
Mark up in a moment
Annotate an image, webpage, or document on your iPad. To capture the screen, use Apple Pencil to swipe up from the bottom corner. Choose a tool from the Markup toolbar, then start writing or sketching.
Sign here
To create a signature with Apple Pencil, swipe up from the bottom corner of the screen. Tap + in the Markup toolbar, choose Signature, sign your name, then tap Done.
The next time you need a signature, tap + in the toolbar of a supported app, then tap Signature.
