
Use tools for FaceTime audio calls on Mac
FaceTime includes features to help you stay in control of audio calls. You can record calls to capture key information, view a transcript of the call, and use Hold Assist to wait on hold for you and let you know when a live person is available. For supported languages and regions, check the macOS Feature Availability website.
Record a FaceTime audio call on Mac
You can record a FaceTime audio call when you’re talking to one other person, then view the transcript of the call in the Notes app.
During a FaceTime audio call, click
.
Click Call Recording.
Both call participants hear a notice that the call is being recorded.
To stop recording, click
.
Call recordings are automatically saved to a Call Recordings folder in the Notes app.
Play a call recording
Go to the Notes app
on your Mac.
Select a note in the Call Recordings folder, then tap
.
If Apple Intelligence* is turned on, you can summarize a recorded FaceTime call. See Use Apple Intelligence in Phone.
Use Hold Assist
You can use Hold Assist to wait on hold for you and let you know when a live person is available.
During a FaceTime audio call, click
.
Click Hold Assist.
When your hold ends, a ringtone plays. Click to continue the call.
