Share to DVD in Final Cut Pro X and Motion 5
Share to DVD in Final Cut Pro X and Motion 5 (File > Share > DVD in Final Cut Pro, and Share > DVD in Motion 5) automatically encodes a DVD with the highest possible bit rate using single pass encoding. The highest available bit rate is 7.7 Mbps, and the lowest is 2 Mbps. Final Cut Pro and Motion 5 can create DVDs with maximum lengths of 2.5 hours per layer.
For more control over the quality of your DVD, use Compressor 4.1 or later.
Customize DVD encoding settings in Compressor 4
You can customize DVD encoding settings using the built-in MPEG-2 settings in Compressor 4.1 or later. These settings provide a range of single and two pass encoding modes. You can choose between modes that encode a DVD faster with lower quality, or slower with higher quality.
You can save these settings as a custom destination, which you can add as a share destination in Final Cut Pro. The custom destination then appears as an available destination in Final Cut Pro when you click the Share button in the toolbar, or when you choose File > Share.
