Password policies for Mac deployments
In macOS, you can choose from an extensive set of password policies to meet your security needs. These password policies can include requirements for:
A password on a Mac
An alphanumeric value
Minimum password length
Minimum number of complex characters
Maximum password age
Time before auto-lock
Password history (unable to use previous passwords)
Maximum number of failed attempts before a Mac is locked
Delay (in minutes) after maximum number of failed attempts
