Here's what you need
- If you subscribe to Apple Music, you can read lyrics in the Apple Music app on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, Apple TV, or Android device; or in iTunes for Windows on your PC.
- Make sure that you have the latest versions of iOS, iPadOS, macOS, iTunes for Windows, and tvOS; or the latest version of the Apple Music app on your Android device.
- To see lyrics, you need an Internet connection.
Lyrics aren’t available for all songs. Explicit lyrics and lyrics search isn’t available in all countries or regions.
How to see lyrics on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Android device
- Open the Apple Music app and play a song.
- At the bottom of the screen, tap the song that's playing to open Now Playing.
- At the bottom of the Now Playing screen, tap Lyrics
. If lyrics aren't available for a song, you won't see Lyrics
.
If available, each verse appears in time with the music so you can follow along as you listen. To jump to a certain verse, just scroll and tap any line.
Otherwise, you'll just see the full lyrics on your screen.
To turn lyrics off, tap the song that's playing at the bottom of your screen to open Now Playing, then tap Lyrics .
You can also see the full lyrics for a song. Just tap the song that's playing at the bottom of your screen to open Now Playing, tap next to the song, then tap View Full Lyrics. Or press and hold any song and tap View Full Lyrics.
Lyrics aren’t available for all songs.
How to see lyrics on your Apple TV
Open the Apple Music app and play a song. If available, each verse appears in time with the music so you can follow along as you listen.
- To jump to a certain verse or see where you are in the song, swipe up or down on the Touch surface of your Apple TV Remote.
- To turn lyrics off, press the Menu button on your Apple TV Remote, then select Lyrics
in the upper-right corner of the screen.
If timed lyrics aren't available, press the Menu button on your Apple TV Remote, select at the top of your screen, and choose View Full Lyrics.

How to see lyrics on your Mac or PC
Play a song, then follow these steps:
- In the Apple Music app on your Mac, click Lyrics
in the upper-right corner of the window.
- In iTunes for Windows on your PC, click
at the top of iTunes, then click Lyrics.

If you see inaccurate lyrics
If you notice incorrect lyrics, you can send Apple Music feedback.

- You can also search for songs by their lyrics in Apple Music, or ask Siri to find songs using lyrics.
- If you have explicit content turned off, you might not see lyrics that have explicit words. You can also turn restrictions on or off for your Apple TV or Android device.
- If you don’t have Apple Music, you can add custom lyrics for a song on your computer, but those lyrics won’t sync to other devices. In the Apple Music app on Mac or iTunes for Windows on a PC, click
next to a song’s name and choose Get Info. On the Lyrics tab, select Custom Lyrics, then enter lyrics and click OK.
