If you're using Internet Sharing to share the Internet connection from your Mac to devices using Wi-Fi, changing your Internet Sharing settings can interrupt Internet service to those devices. Follow these steps to allow your other devices to reconnect using your new settings.
- Choose Apple menu () > System Preferences, then click Sharing. Deselect the Internet Sharing checkbox to turn off Internet Sharing.
- Restart your Mac.
- Open Sharing preferences again and select the Internet Sharing checkbox to turn Internet Sharing back on.
- Select the Wi-Fi checkbox in the list of ports, then click Wi-Fi Options and choose your preferred network name, channel, and security setting.
- Quit System Preferences. Your other devices should now be able to reconnect to your Mac over Wi-Fi and use its Internet connection.
