Apple Configurator 1.x: A supervised device can't be refreshed while it is locked

In certain cases, a supervised device which is locked with a passcode cannot be refreshed.

• A device that was supervised by Configurator, and later erased and restored from an iCloud or iTunes backup.

• A device that was supervised by Configurator, enrolled in Mobile Device Management (MDM), and then upgraded to iOS 7.1.

Before connecting the device to Apple Configurator 1.x, unlock the device by entering the passcode. Or, if you are using Mobile Device Management, send a command to clear the passcode before connecting the device.
