How do I get my Apple Watch fixed?

Many Apple Watch issues can be resolved by restarting the device. You can also unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone and then pair it again.

If these steps don’t fix the issue, you can arrange to send your Apple Watch to an Apple Repair Centre. We’ll give you delivery instructions. You can also have your Apple Authorised Service Provider or Apple Store technician send it in for you. 

Make sure that you unpair your Apple Watch from your iPhone before you get service. After we receive your Apple Watch, we’ll repair or replace it as soon as possible. If you have a gold Apple Watch Edition, contact Apple or make an appointment at an Apple Store.

There’s no charge if the issue is covered under warranty, AppleCare+, or consumer law. If your issue isn’t covered, the price depends on the type of service.

Apple Limited Warranty cover

The Apple Limited Warranty covers your product against manufacturing defects beginning on the original purchase date. The warranty period varies by model. The chart below shows your Apple Watch model’s warranty period. Our warranty is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.

Can I buy additional cover for my Apple Watch?

AppleCare+ for Apple Watch extends your technical support and hardware cover, starting from your AppleCare+ purchase date. The cover period varies by model. The chart below shows your Apple Watch model’s additional cover with AppleCare+.

You can buy AppleCare+ together with your Apple Watch or within 60 days of your Apple Watch purchase. Your Apple Watch must not be damaged if you buy AppleCare+ after you’ve bought your Apple Watch. Call us to confirm the condition of your Apple Watch and your purchase date.

You might also have consumer law rights. Apple Limited Warranty and AppleCare+ benefits are in addition to your rights under consumer law.

Out-of-warranty service

Service is considered out of warranty and comes with a fee when:

  • Your Apple Watch is beyond the eligible warranty term.
  • Your Apple Watch has an issue that’s not covered under warranty or consumer law, such as accidental damage.
  • Your Apple Watch service isn’t covered by an AppleCare plan.

We might be able to fix or replace your Apple Watch for an out-of-warranty fee. In some cases, you might need to pay the full replacement value fee, such as for catastrophic damage or unauthorised modifications. 

Your replacement Apple Watch will have factory settings and will be new or equivalent to new in performance and reliability.

Battery service

If your battery has a manufacturing defect and it's covered by the Apple Limited Warranty, AppleCare+ or consumer law, we'll service your Apple Watch at no additional cost.  

Our warranty doesn’t cover batteries that wear down from normal use. We offer out-of-warranty battery service for a fee. If your Apple Watch battery holds less than 80 percent of its original battery capacity and it’s covered by AppleCare+, you might get Apple Watch battery service for no additional charge.

Screen damage

If your Apple Watch screen breaks accidentally, you can replace your Apple Watch for an out-of-warranty fee. The Apple warranty doesn’t cover damage caused by accident or abuse. 

If your screen cracks due to a manufacturing defect, it’s covered by the Apple warranty and consumer law.

The final cost to service an accidentally damaged screen depends on your Apple Watch model, any additional damage, and if you have AppleCare+ cover.

If you have AppleCare+, it covers up to two incidents of accidental damage. Cover does not include cosmetic damage, such as scratches. Each incident has an excess fee. You can use an incident for screen damage. If you don’t have AppleCare+, see our out-of-warranty fees.

Set up service

Apple accessories

Apple-branded accessories are covered by our warranty and consumer law. The accessories that come in the box with your product are also covered by AppleCare+. Before you bring in an Apple Watch Edition Magnetic charging case, take out and keep all the loose parts in the case. Contact Apple or an Apple Authorised Service Provider for service details.

We can help with returns or exchanges of third-party accessories that you bought from Apple. For service or support, contact the accessory manufacturer.

If your Apple Watch has an electronic SIM card, it won’t support cross-border roaming with your existing plan. To optimise the performance of your Apple Watch during an international trip, you can turn off the LTE features on your device.

After service

When you receive your Apple Watch, set it up the same way you’d set up a new Apple Watch.

We guarantee our service, including replacement parts, for 90 days or the remaining term of your Apple warranty or AppleCare plan cover, whichever is longer. We offer this when you get service from us or from an Apple Authorised Service Provider. This is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.
