About submitting content
After you create your content and generate a Store Package (iTMSP), you can use Transporter to submit the package to Apple. Submitting your content with Transporter helps ensure the metadata and assets (for example, audio files, video files, book files and app files) in your package are properly delivered and the content is validated against Apple’s specifications. For apps, you can optionally upload an .ipa file for iOS apps or a .pkg file for macOS apps, and Transporter generates an .itmsp package as an asset-only upload for you.
To submit your content:
Add pre-generated packages (iTMSP files) for verification or delivery or add an app file to have Transporter generate the package
Verify the content in the package against Apple’s specifications
Deliver the package to Apple
Validate content and add additional information to the imported package files
Notes:
You can verify multiple package files at once, then have Transporter process the uploads sequentially.
For apps, before you can deliver the package file, you must set up your app in App Store Connect. For TV seasons, before you can deliver the package file, you must set up the season in iTunes Connect or by delivering the season metadata using XML. See TV Season Profile for more information.
Depending on your iTunes Connect or encoding house access level, you might have verify-only privileges within Transporter.
