summary row

A summary row is a special, unnumbered row that appears above each group in a categorized table and begins with the name of the group. In the summary row, you can add functions (predefined calculations, such as sum, count, or average) to summarize the data for each group. For example, in a table with shirt sales categorized by month, you could add a function to count the total number of shirts sold each month.
