You can use outline view in Keynote to get your ideas into a presentation quickly. You can set titles, add bullets and rearrange any of the slides. You can switch from outline view at any time to make further edits to your presentation, such as setting the build order.
Create an outline in Keynote on iPhone and iPad
- In the presentation manager, tap the add button
at the top of the screen. If you're currently editing a presentation, tap the Presentations button
to open the presentation manager.
- Tap Start an Outline.
- Enter a title for the first slide.
- To create a new slide, tap the New Slide button
or press Return twice.
- To add subtitles or bullets to a slide, tap a slide, then tap Return on the keyboard.
- To reorder a slide, tap and hold a slide thumbnail, then drag it to a new place. You can change the indent level of a slide or bullet with the Indent
and Outdent
buttons.
- To change the slide layout, tap the Format button
, then choose a new layout.
- To close outline view, tap the View Options button
or the More button
, then tap Slide View or Light Table. Or double-tap a slide thumbnail.
After you’ve created your outline, you can go out of outline view to adjust things like slide layout and build order.
Create an outline in Keynote on Mac
- Open Keynote, choose a theme, then click Create.
- Choose View > Outline.
- In the left sidebar, enter a title for the slide.
- To create a new slide, click Add Slide, or select a slide and press Return on the keyboard.
- To add bullets to a slide, select a slide, press Return, then press Tab.
- To change the indent level of a slide or bullet, select a slide or bullet, then press Tab or Shift + Tab on the keyboard.
- To reorder a slide, drag a slide or bullet to a new location in the sidebar.
- To close outline view, click the View button
, then choose another view option.
After you’ve created your outline, you can go out of outline view to adjust things like slide layout and build order.
