View episode transcripts in Apple Podcasts on iPhone and iPad
With Apple Podcasts on iPhone and iPad, you can follow along with time-synced transcripts, find links to relevant content mentioned in the show, and more.
Before you get started
Update your iPhone or iPad to the latest version of iOS or iPadOS
How to view podcast transcripts
Open the Podcasts app and start listening to an episode.
Tap the mini player at the bottom of the screen to expand the full-screen player.
Tap the Transcript button
. If the Transcript button is greyed out, transcripts are not available for that episode.
Your auto-lock settings are disabled while viewing time-synced transcripts. Make sure you lock your device if you're not actively viewing time-synced transcripts.
In the transcript view you can:
Follow along with your favourite shows while reading time-synced transcripts.
Scroll forwards and backwards through the podcast and tap to play the section you want to listen to.
Tap and hold a section to select the text or share it.
Tap Search to find specific words and go directly to those sections.
View show chapters and tap them to go to that section of the podcast.
Find time-synced links to music and other content mentioned in the show, or follow mentioned podcasts.
Report an issue with the transcript by press and holding the section, tap Report a Concern, then follow the onscreen steps.
Transcripts are not available in Belarus and Russia.
