Turn Improve Siri & Dictation on or off
Improve Siri & Dictation is an optional setting that helps Apple develop and improve Siri, Dictation, Translate and related features. When you turn it on, you agree to let Apple store and review a sample of your audio recordings and transcripts.
Set up Improve Siri & Dictation
When you set up a new device, or turn on or use Siri, Dictation or Translate for the first time on a device, you’ll be asked whether to opt in to Improve Siri & Dictation. The process to opt in to Improve Siri & Dictation varies by device. For example:
iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Vision Pro: You’ll be asked whether to opt in to Improve Siri & Dictation during the device setup process. If you don’t turn on Siri during the setup process, you’ll be asked whether to opt in the first time you turn on or use Siri, Dictation or Translate on the device.
Apple Watch: The Improve Siri & Dictation setting on Apple Watch matches the setting from the iPhone or iPad you used to set it up. If you set up an Apple Watch for a family member, the Improve Siri & Dictation setting is off by default and can’t be adjusted.
HomePod: The Improve Siri & Dictation setting on your HomePod matches the setting from the iPhone or iPad you used to set it up.
Apple TV: If you use your iPhone or iPad to set up Apple TV, your Improve Siri & Dictation setting on your Apple TV matches the setting on that iPhone or iPad, unless you choose to customise your settings. If you set up Apple TV manually, you’ll be asked whether to opt in during the device setup process.
