Set up and use iCloud Tabs

After you’ve turned on iCloud for Safari on your devices, iCloud keeps the tabs you have open in Safari up to date on your iPhone, iPad and Mac. Learn how to update your iCloud settings, find your iCloud Tabs and close an iCloud Tab.

Turn on iCloud for Safari on your iPhone or iPad

  1. Go to Settings, then tap your name.

  2. Tap iCloud.

  3. Tap See All, next to Saved to iCloud. In iOS 17 or earlier, tap Show All under Apps Using iCloud.

  4. Turn on Safari.

Turn on iCloud for Safari on your Mac

  1. From the Apple menu , choose System Settings.

  2. Click your name, then click iCloud.

  3. Click See All next to Saved to iCloud.

  4. Turn on Safari.

Open or close iCloud tabs in Safari on your iPhone or iPad

  1. Open Safari.

  2. Tap the More buttonnull, then tap New Tab.

  3. Scroll to the bottom of the start page.

  4. Tap the tab that you want to open from the list of tabs from your other devices.

  5. To close a tab, touch and hold the tab, then choose Close.

Open or close iCloud tabs in Safari on your Mac

  1. Open Safari.

  2. To see tabs open across your devices, choose Show Start Page from Bookmarks in the menu bar. If you can’t see your tabs, make sure that you’ve turned on Safari in your iCloud settings.

  3. To close a tab, Control-click the tab, then choose Close Tab.
