How to send your Mac to Apple for a service

After you’ve contacted Apple for a service, you’ll receive a kit that contains everything you need to return your product to Apple.

Before you send your Mac for a service

If your Mac won’t turn on or respond, finish as many steps as possible:

Pack your Mac

  • The kit that you received from Apple has everything you need to pack up your Mac – including the box to send it and the return postage label. To pack your Mac, follow the steps printed inside the lid of the box.

  • Don’t include anything else in the box – such as a power adapter, power cable, SD card(s), keyboard protector, bottom cover, display cover or any other accessories. If you do, they won’t be returned to you.

Send your product to Apple

  1. Find the name of the courier on the provided postage label (or elsewhere in the packing materials).

  2. Visit the courier’s website to schedule a pick-up or find a drop-off location.

  3. If a commercial invoice was included, attach it to the outside of the box. If you don’t, the package may not be able to be delivered. Commercial invoices are only necessary in some European countries.

Make sure you get proof of collection from the courier to confirm that you’ve sent your product for a service.

Apple is not responsible for any damage sustained during delivery.
