Choose the soundtrack for a movie

If a movie has an alternate soundtrack—such as another language or Descriptive Video Service—you can choose which soundtrack it uses. If the movie doesn’t have alternate soundtracks, you won’t see an option for them.

Open QuickTime Player for me

  • With the movie open, choose View > Languages > [soundtrack].

You can also click the Subtitles button in the playback controls to see a list of available options.

Descriptive Video Service soundtracks are listed with all of the audio soundtrack options, and typically have “DVS” appended to the name. Descriptive Video Service soundtracks describe the action and images onscreen in between the dialogue.
