Audio and video files don't play when document and widget filenames have special characters.
iBooks Author document filenames (the name of the .iba file) and HTML widget filenames (the name of the .wdgt bundle) should contain only letters, numbers, underscores, and periods.
If the document filename or HTML widget filename contains any special characters, widgets in that book will not be able to play audio or video.
Special characters that are known to cause issues include, but are not limited to:
spaces
question marks
percent signs (the "%" character)
ampersands (the "&" character)
carets (the "^" character)
pound symbols (the "#" character)
curly braces (the "{" and "}" characters)
square brackets (the "[" and "]" characters)
other non-alphanumeric symbols, such as •
