Use home directories with an Xsan client

You can set up a share point on an Xsan client to serve network-based home directories using AFP or SMB.

Use an AFP or SMB connection

Xsan supports storage of network-based home directories with OS X Server. For best results, avoid setting your home directory locations to point directly to your Xsan. Instead, clients should mount the share point containing the home directories by using AFP or SMB.
