If your organization’s Mac computers are unable to upgrade to macOS Tahoe 26
If your Mac has macOS Sequoia 15 installed and you are using a device management service to defer major operating system updates, macOS Tahoe 26 updates may not be available after the deferral period expires.
This article is intended for system administrators at businesses and educational organizations.
Check for software updates on your Mac. If you don't see available software updates for macOS Tahoe 26, you can install macOS Tahoe 26 on your managed Mac computer with one of the following solutions:
Update to macOS Sequoia 15.7.5 or later.
Use a single deferral period that applies to all operating system updates instead of different deferral periods for major and minor operating system updates.
Use your device management service to install the version of macOS Tahoe 26 your organization currently allows.
Remove the deferral period for major operating system updates to allow users to install the latest version of macOS Tahoe 26.
macOS Sequoia 15.7.5 and later will only use a single deferral period that applies to all operating system updates. macOS Tahoe 26 and later will continue to have the ability to to specify a different deferral period for major operating system updates.
