Transfer your eSIM from Android to iPhone

If you transfer an eSIM from a non-Apple smartphone to an iPhone, you might need to contact your carrier. They can transfer your eSIM either by eSIM Carrier Activation or by providing a QR code. Learn more about setting up your iPhone with eSIM.

With iOS 26 and later, some carriers and select smartphone manufacturers support transferring your SIM from Android to iPhone, or vice versa. If your carrier or device doesn't support the feature to transfer your eSIM from Android to iPhone, contact your carrier to activate your eSIM.

What you need

  • A supported carrier:

    • USA: AT&T, Cricket, FirstNet, T-Mobile, Verizon, Xfinity Mobile

    • Austria: A1, Magenta

    • Brazil: TIM

    • Canada: Bell, Koodo, Lucky Mobile, Telus, Virgin Mobile

    • Czechia: T-Mobile

    • France: Free Mobile, Orange, SFR

    • Germany: Telekom, 1&1

    • Japan: au, UQ

    • Mexico: AT&T

    • Netherlands: KPN

    • Slovakia: Slovak Telekom

    • Switzerland: Swisscom

    • UK: EE

  • An iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max or later with iOS 26 or later

  • A compatible Android smartphone with Android 16 or later. To check if your Android device is compatible, check with your smartphone manufacturer.

  • You must connect your iPhone and Android smartphone to a Wi-Fi network and enable bluetooth.

Transfer your eSIM from Android to iPhone during new iPhone setup

After you transfer your eSIM to your new iPhone, the SIM on your Android deactivates.

Transfer your eSIM from Android to iPhone in the Settings app

After setting up your new iPhone, transfer your eSIM from your Android smartphone to iPhone in the Settings app.

Before you start, place your phones next to each other so that you can see the prompts from both devices.

  1. On your iPhone, open the Settings app.

  2. Tap Set Up Cellular and tap Transfer from Android. If you already have another SIM on your iPhone, tap Cellular and then tap Add eSIM and tap Transfer from Android.

  3. Tap Transfer From Android. A QR code will be generated. If you can't scan the QR code on your iPhone, see Use Other Options if you can't scan the iPhone QR code. Otherwise, continue to the next step.

  4. Use your Android camera to scan the QR code on your iPhone.

  5. On your Android, select the phone number that you want to transfer and tap Transfer.

  6. If asked, tap Yes to use the transferred SIM as your primary eSIM.

  7. When the transfer is complete, tap Done on your iPhone and tap OK.

  8. Make a phone call on your iPhone to check its cellular connectivity. If you can’t make a call, contact your carrier.

After you transfer your eSIM to your new iPhone, the SIM on your Android deactivates.

Use Other Options if you can't scan the iPhone QR code

  1. On your iPhone, select Other Options under the QR code.

  2. On your Android, open the Settings app.

    1. Tap Google services.

    2. Tap All services.

    3. Tap Pair with iPhone or iPad.

    4. Tap Transfer eSIM.

    5. Enter the session ID and enter the pairing code that's displayed on your iPhone, and tap Next.

    6. Select the phone number that you want to transfer and tap Transfer.

    7. If asked, tap Yes to use the transferred SIM as your primary eSIM.

  3. When the transfer is complete, tap Done on your iPhone and tap OK.

  4. Make a phone call on your iPhone to check its cellular connectivity. If you can’t make a call, contact your carrier.

After you transfer your eSIM to your new iPhone, the SIM on your Android deactivates.
