What is Express Replacement Service?

Express Replacement Service is a benefit of AppleCare+ for HomePod. With Express Replacement Service, we’ll ship you a replacement device so you don’t have to wait for a repair.

How can I get Express Replacement Service for my product?

  1. When you request Express Replacement Service, we’ll send you a replacement device.

  2. Return the original device within 10 business days of Apple shipping your replacement product. Packaging will be included.

  3. We’ll place a temporary authorization on your credit card to cover the retail price of the replacement device of your product until we receive and inspect your original product.

  4. Apple will remove the temporary hold after receiving and inspecting the original product and confirming that the repair is covered by Apple’s Limited Warranty, AppleCare+, or consumer law.

How much will it cost?

AppleCare+ provides unlimited incidents of accidental damage protection. If your device has accidental damage, you’ll pay the “other damage” AppleCare+ service fee, as specified in the AppleCare+ Terms and Conditions.

If we find additional damage not covered by the Apple Limited Warranty, AppleCare+, or consumer law, you will be charged either the retail price or an out-of-warranty fee, depending on the extent of the damage.

All fees are in Canadian dollars and are subject to tax.

What are the charges on my credit card?

We’ll put a temporary authorization on your credit card to cover the retail price of the replacement device and send you a confirmation for the amount of that authorization. We will remove the authorization hold if both of these conditions are met:

  • Your repair is covered by the Apple Limited Warranty, AppleCare+, or consumer law; and

  • We receive your original product within 10 business days

If we need to charge the retail price of your product, we’ll send you an email. If your device is ineligible for out-of-warranty service, the temporary hold will be charged to your card.

Warranty

The Apple Limited Warranty covers your HomePod and the Apple-branded accessories that come in the box with your product against manufacturing issues for one year from the date you bought them. Apple-branded accessories purchased separately are covered by the Apple Limited Warranty for Accessories. This includes adapters and spare cables. Our warranty is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.

Depending on the issue, you might also have coverage with AppleCare+. Terms and Conditions apply, including fees. Feature availability and options may vary by country or region.

If your situation isn’t covered, you’ll pay a fee. If the issue with your HomePod is ineligible for service, you might pay the full replacement value.

Guarantee

We guarantee our service, including replacement parts, for 90 days or the remaining term of your Apple warranty or AppleCare plan, whichever is longer. This is in addition to your rights provided by consumer law.

Replacement equipment that Apple provides as part of the repair or replacement service may contain new or previously used genuine Apple parts that have been tested and pass Apple functional requirements.
