select objects
You can select one object or multiple objects at the same time.
Select one object
A text box, image, image gallery, chart, or shape: Click the object. Selection handles (for example, blue dots around a text box) appear to show the object is selected.
An inline object: If the inline object is in the body text, click it; if it’s inside a text box or shape, double-click it. Three selection handles appear to show it’s selected (you may need to resize the object to see them).
A table: Click the table, click anywhere in the table, then click the square in the top-left corner of the table border. (You can also click outside the table, so no table cells are selected, then Shift-click a table cell to select it.) A blue outline appears around the table to show it’s selected.
If you don’t see selection handles or a blue outline, the object may be locked; you need to unlock it before you can select it.
Select multiple objects
On a Mac: Select one object, then hold down the Command key as you click other objects.
On a Windows computer: Select one object, then hold down the Control key as you click other objects.
